Community Cleanup & Shredding Event

Our most recent community cleanup on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the parking lot of West Springfield Elementary was a huge success! Fairfax County Department of Public Works brought in several tractor-trailer style dumpsters along with a huge crane to pick up items from the ground. There was a steady stream of SUV's, pick-up trucks, and cars all morning. We even had a few walk-ups! Quite a few lawn mowers, washers, dryers, and barbecue grills made their exit from our neighborhood, not to mention screen doors, old fencing, televisions, and other large items.

Our next Community Cleanup will be in April of 2019 at West Springfield Elementary, from 8am to Noon. The trucks will leave by noon, so we encourage you to arrive no later than 11:30am.

The Community Cleanup is your chance to get rid of items not normally collected by your regular trash service.  Examples of items that can be accepted are: large appliances, furniture, lawn mowers (gasoline removed), tires (off of rims), and fencing. Items that cannot be accepted are: Normal household trash, leaves, rocks, bricks, concrete, stone, dirt, motor oil, car batteries, paint, roofing shingles, drywall, asbestos, glass, hazardous chemicals, pesticides, toxic waste, animal waste, and explosives.

Our fall shredding event will be held September 8, 2018 at West Springfield Elementary from 9am to 1pm.  Please call 703-451-SALE (7253) or email monique@craftandcrew.net if you have any questions.
